Zero to Rio in 2 hrs

Join our team of high energy and maximum enjoyment performers! Do a crash course in Brazilian style percussion utilizing all instruments from a huge 22" Surdo drum to a hand held two tone agogo bell! Play in an orchestrated arrangement in 20 minutes flat and parade in crazy costumes after two hours!!

Percussion workshops

Run by our Musical Directors, percussion workshops are introduce people to rhythm regardless of experience. We use clapping and stepping exercises followed by the teaching of traditional Brazilian rhythms on particular instruments. By the end of the rehearsal, these new recruits will be hooked.

Shaker making workshops

The Shaker is a fundamental instrument in the Samba ensemble. It is therefore a thrill for people to make their own instrument and decorate it accordingly. When booked with a percussion workshop, you can learn to play the shaker and take home as a souvenir. All materials provided.

Costume Workshops

Costume workshops are an excellent complement to the Percussion workshops in that while the music requires people to follow the Samba rules, the costuming is a perfect opportunity for free individual expression.
